Biography
As Executive Creative Director, Lucio oversees systematic projects and general creative output of R/GA London. Having joined the company in 2008, Lucio has been instrumental for the agency growth and the build of an exceptional creative team operating across 14 industry-leading global brands (counting) including Nike, Beats by Dre, Unilever, Aston Martin, Nokia, Disney, BBC, Microsoft, Apple, Heineken and Google.
With more than 15 years of experience, Lucio’s skills sets are centered on exceptional understanding of human-computer interaction, service design and brand development. Lucio believes that the only way to create meaningful products and services is through a technology driven, human centric design approach.
Before joining R/GA, Lucio served as Creative Director at Framfab in Denmark, where he was responsible for extend Nike’s Women and NIKEiD EMEA footprint. Prior to that, Rufo worked at F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi in Brazil on a variety of accounts, including Nike, Skol Beer, Campana Brothers, Unibanco, Petrobras, and Toyota.
In recent years, Lucio has presented internationally at numerous industry-leading events and earned honors at the most prestigious award shows including Communication Arts, One Show Interactive, Cannes Cyber Lions, London International Awards, Webby, D&AD Awards, and CLIO Awards.
Lucio Rufo has led a multidisciplinary team of copywriters, technologists, product and graphic designers, orchestrating the vision, brand, user experience and marketing of Beats Music. A revolutionary streaming music service that combines human curation with technology, creating a new way to experience music. The success of Beats Music has lead Beats by Dre acquisition by Apple in 2014 and subsequently the launch of Apple Music - Apple’s first streaming music platform. Beats Music has earned more than 30 industry awards including the prestigious Mobile Grand Prix at Eurobest 2014.
