Biography
I have over 18 years of design and leadership experience, 15 of those years at Swanson Russell as Senior Vice President–Creative/Digital. My professional experience includes leading a 25 person digital marketing team of UX designers, strategists and developers to create captivating and functional online experiences. My strengths lie in design, user experience and management, working on national clients such as OREGON, Barrett-Jackson Auto Care, Minn Kota Motors, SCUBA PRO, SIG SAUER, E-Z-GO, and others outlined in my portfolio. This work has been recognized nationally through the American Institute of Graphic Artists, ADDYs, W3 Awards and many more.
My true passion and pride is rooted in design and user experience. I’ve always had the mentality that all creatives should possess a unique balance of art and technology, or more functionally, the ability to design and code. Over the last several years, I’ve maintained that creative balance, combining it with marketing, user experience and management.
My roots in design and code, along with experience leading “digital marketing” products for a national base of clients, helps to relate and collaborate with business units and marketing teams, as well as designers and developers. Over the last several years, we’ve worked to establish a more lean and agile approach to user experience, design and development, creating and iterating on ideas more efficiently without hurting creativity. Because of this, I’ve grown at Swanson Russell, and so has the collective group of UX designers, producers and developers.
Outside of my job at Swanson Russell, I volunteer to run non-profit ONYX, teaching our youth to become better stewards of the community by running soccer events to raise money for the greater good. Sports marketing is a passion of mine, grown from my time at Swanson Russell and involvement in the local soccer community.
Without change there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable. -- William Pollard
